Silvana Bosca gave a brief overview of the District 7810 Rotary Conference, held in Moncton from 11 to 13 September. The most significant item was that Nigeria has been declared free from endemic polio, as it had been 14 months since their last polio case. When Rotary International started their polio eradication campaign, there were 186 countries considered endemic. Now, there are only two countries that are still considered to be endemic, Afghanistan and Pakistan. She also noted that 24 October is World Polio Day.
